Who We Are

Parkes Properties are one of Ireland's leading Property Development and Capital Investment Groups with 60 years of experience in the property investment plus development industry.

At present, the group manages and controls an investment portfolio of completed projects in joint-ventures and wholly owned vehicles and a further pipeline is at planning stage. The Parkes Properties name has become synonymous with integrity, innovation and excellence and our reputation is accentuated in that we are principled developers guided by core values that set them apart from their peers.

Parkes Properties, headed by brothers Michael and Ralph, have built a reputation for design, planning, and building high-specification developments tailored to market demands. The Parkes family building and development business was originally started by their late father Robert Parkes in 1957. Since then the Group has established a long and trusted track record of delivering a wide range of retail, commercial, and residential projects.

Parkes development ethos is:

To identify project opportunities at an early stage;
Then move to acquire lands, independently or within joint-venture partnerships;
Proceed and co-ordinate the pre-planning phase to tailor the site location for the appropriate market opportunity;
Engage with a full design team encompassing all disciplines;
And finally, manage the funding through procurement to completion - and letting or sale of the developed project.

The group activities have moved outside the construction industry over the years and there are now significant interests in other trading businesses: Property Development Management, Retail, and Venture Capital Private Equity Groups.

Our team

Michael Parkes

Executive Chairman
Michael commenced his career in 1974 when he graduated from Shannon College of Hotel Management, having worked in both Switzerland and England. Michael managed their family hotel business until 1984, when it was demolished, and the site was converted into a current successfully trading shopping centre.
Over the past 25 years, he has been the Executive Chairman of the Parkes Property group of companies. Michael has gained vast experience in all sectors of company management and fully understands the fiduciary responsibilities as a director of any enterprise or company.
